DetailBrain is a product of Smith Web Co. ("we," "us," or "our"), a web services company based in Texas. DetailBrain is an online platform that provides scheduling, customer management, invoicing, and business tools for auto detailing businesses.

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, business name, and address
- Payment information: billing details processed through Stripe or Authorize.net (we do not store card numbers)
- Business data: customer records, vehicle information, booking details, invoices, and photos you upload
- Communications: messages you send us via email or our chat widget

- Device and browser information (type, operating system, screen size)
- IP address and approximate location
- Pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns
- Cookies and similar technologies for session management and authentication
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the DetailBrain platform
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, invoices, password resets)
- Send product updates and announcements (you can opt out at any time)
- Provide customer support
- Detect, prevent, and address security issues or abuse
- Generate aggregated, anonymized analytics to improve our product
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:
- Payment processors: Stripe and Authorize.net receive payment details to process transactions. They operate under their own privacy policies.
- Infrastructure providers: We use Cloudflare for hosting, storage, and content delivery. Your data is processed on their infrastructure under their data processing agreements.
- Communication services: If you enable SMS or email notifications, we use third-party services (such as Twilio and email delivery providers) to send messages on your behalf.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Cloudflare's global network using their D1 database and R2 object storage services. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and encrypt sensitive credentials (such as third-party API keys) at rest using AES-GCM encryption.
Authentication tokens are stored in HTTP-only cookies that JavaScript cannot access. We implement rate limiting, account lockout policies, and regular security reviews.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Data, Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you additional rights over your personal information:

- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or data broker integrations.
To submit a verified request to know, delete, correct, or opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, email us at privacy@detailbrain.com. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days (extendable by an additional 45 days if we notify you).
You may authorize an agent to submit requests on your behalf; we may require written permission and identity verification from both you and the agent.
8. Cookies
We use cookies strictly for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. Our authentication cookie is HTTP-only and cannot be read by client-side scripts.
9. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 90 days in case you reactivate, after which it is permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion at any time by contacting us.
Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement.
10. Children's Privacy
DetailBrain is designed for business use and is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the platform. Your continued use of DetailBrain after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
